Acupuncture is the most important therapy of TCM. The aim of acupuncture is to regulate the meridians or channels of the body to unblock the stagnation of “Qi” (energy). Thus acupuncture can supply a deficiency, impair an excess, retain a harmonious flow of Qi, and resume balance of Qi to restore health and well being. The practitioner will carefully insert fine needles to the correct points, and the patient may feel a slight sensation. This feeling is known as a “needle sensation”, and indicates that the treatment is beginning to have an effect. The needle sensation can be a soreness, a numbness, a distension or a heaviness. This sensation will only last for a few seconds, and therefore clients can be assured that acupuncture is painless.

Our centre uses disposable acupuncture needles only – used needles are disposed of immediately upon use.
